We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Hotel Porter
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
- Greet guests and carrying luggage to and from their room.
- Show guests to their room and explaining the facilities
- Keep the lobby and reception area tidy and collect hotel laundry.
- Cover the reception desk, dealing with enquiries by phone and face-to-face.
- Deal alone with problems arising in the night; if necessary transferring guests into a different room.
- In case of fire or emergency, make sure that guests are evacuated safely.
- Look after keys and left luggage
- Answer guests’ questions about the hotel and local points of interest
- Arrange transport and making restaurant and theatre bookings for guests
Requisite Qualifications / Experience
- OND in Hotel management or other related qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position.
Required Skills / Attributes:
- This is an active job.
- Ability to carry heavy loads, possibly up and down stairs, and move heavy furniture.
- Good interpersonal and people management skills and negotiating skills
- Self-motivated and team player
- Must be presentable, professional and confident in the discharge of duties.
- Able to work work shifts, including early mornings, nights and weekends.
- It involves wearing a uniform provided by the hotel.
- Excellent client management skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
